E06: Part 2: Adoption Do's and Don'ts from the Adoptee Perspective with Katie Wynen
This week Dr. Laura Anderson brings back Katie Wynen, MSW, a transracial, international Colombian adoptee with a Masters in Social Work, to continue last episode's conversation. Katie has worked with members of the adoption triad since 2006. She works with families who are looking to adopt, providing education and preparation locally and nationally for families.
This episode jumps right back in where we left off with Katie sharing her do's and don'ts with actionable tips for adoptive parents. In raising an adoptive child, there is always room for improvement to give your child the tools they need. Katie helps make the process easier and straightforward for all parties involved.
What You Will Learn:
Methods for responding to intrusive questions that WILL happen for adoptive families
What parents can say and do differently to raise culturally identified children
